Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Darmin Nasution said Indonesia is ready to explore the possibilities of establishing economic cooperation with France as one of the country's trading partners."I believe that the economies of Indonesia and France complement each other," the minister said after meeting with France Ambassador for Indonesia Corrine Breuzé last weekend.

According to the Trade Ministry's data, as of July 2015 the trade value between Indonesia and France reached US$2.3 billion. The figure is down 9.4 percent from the same period last year. Meanwhile, the actualized value of France's investment in Indonesia reached US$131.6 million for 197 projects.France's favorite sectors to invest in in Indonesia are the transportation, communication, electricity, water, food industry, chemical goods, and pharmaceuticals.

In semester one, the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) noted a 14.8 percent foreign investment increase from 2015's first half.
